Parking Space Allocation
Concerns have been expressed by several residents over car parking at BP, so in an attempt to clarify the situation for all, we have provided an overview below. To assist we have provided the current (and ongoing) car parking allocations.
- Car parking spaces at Brockhampton were allocated with the original lease and are not negotiable. Any changes to the allocation can only be done through changes to the lease which will need agreement of all members.
- Parking in these spaces is the privilege of the owner of the flat, or their tenant, and others may only use these spaces with the clear formal, preferably written, agreement of the owner.
- Each space is marked by lines and identified by letters which are linked to the flats as shown on the annex to this note. Please take care to park between these lines and not encroach on the spaces of other flats.
Top Car park
The top car park was re-surfaced about five years ago with new line markings. The nature of this car park is that it is surrounded by large trees and often in the shade – this leads to continued growth of surface moss. The gardeners have been instructed to deal with this, but need to wait for a period of dry weather to put down the necessary treatment.
This treatment will kill the moss and the surface can be properly cleaned. Please take additional care in the period before this can be completed.
We will advise the house as soon as a date for this treatment is agreed and probably do the treatment in 2 stages to allow for cars to be moved to allow the treatment to be applied. When the car park is cleaned we will also make any necessary improvements to the line marking defining each space.
Car Park in front of the House:
The car park in front of the house is allocated as outlined in the attached annex and others may only use this with the express and clear permission of the owner as indicated above. It is particularly important that this guideline is followed as the car park is often a feature of properties at the front of the house.
It is acceptable to park a car close to the house to allow unloading or loading of items but the car must then immediately be moved to the allocated spot.
Each flat is allocated two parking spaces located either in the main parking area or in front of the house. For security purposes the spaces are annotated with alphabetic letters rather than the flat number. The key below indicates which letter refers to which flat (flat numbers in green, parking designation in red):
