Tree Surgery

The survey of the Park’s trees done last year pointed to many issues that needed to be addressed and the damage done to some of our beautiful, mature trees by last winter’s storms has underlined that priority action is needed. The first steps have been to tackle issues identified on the perimeter of the site adjoining public roads. This post outlines the initial priority work done.

The towering conifers adjoining Winchcombe Lane have been ‘topped’ to curtail their upward development and reduce wind exposure. The images below show the ‘before’ and ‘after’ conditions:

Extensive damage by squirrels on the branches of mature trees overhanging Park Lane resulted in one large branch falling earlier in the year. Tree surgeon, Andy Doyle, and his professional team are pictured below carrying out preventative maintenance on that boundary.
